Robert Irwin is reportedly taking on a big job at I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Don’t worry, Ant and Dec are safe – the 19-year-old is rumoured to be becoming a co-host on the Australian version of the reality show, not the UK one so phew!

The son of late TV star Steve Irwin would be replacing Dr Chris Brown, who has fronted the series for almost a decade before stepping down to pursue other opportunities at rival channel Seven.

Robert would be leading the show alongside Julia Morris, who previously went viral for her comical introductions.

The reports, which were published on TV Blackbox, were presented to the broadcaster Network 10 who had fun with their response.

‘The guessing game of who is in the jungle is already afoot with speculation galore as to who will fill those very big shoes for Australia’s most sought-after hosting gig,’ they told

They teased: ‘But you know how this goes, just like the celebrities in the camp, we can neither confirm nor deny any rumours surrounding a new jungle host.’

There were initially six people in the running for the job, and Julia, 55, was keen to ensure they had on-screen chemistry to keep the show successful.

‘We start chemistry testing pretty soon with a number of different people – not even a number of different people, I think there’s kind of a party of six. And from there we’ll just work out where that best chemistry is and start a new adventure,’she told Yahoo.

‘Whoever that person is is going to have a huge effect on whether I’m working over the next few years, so I want it to work.’

Robert’s biggest competitors are reportedly sports reporter Tony Armstrong, 33, and comedian Sam Pang, 49.

Although the UK version doesn’t start until much later this year, there are already rumours as to who may take part including Danielle Harold, and Thomas Skinner. have contacted Network 10 for comment.
